OH MY GOODNESS!
One year old! It was this time last year that I launched my patreon and began uploading my maps. One year ago that I took the plunge. Back then the maps were just following my campaign. I had my dad… he was my first patron. I’m a grown man and my dad is still supporting my wacky endeavours. Here’s to you Dad!
My wife was sceptical. Let’s face it… I’ve had a lot of weird ideas over the years… but I think she’s realised this is working for me. Also, she has a wealth of knowledge about the old building interiors and the way people dressed and their social structures. That’s been a big help.
Then we changed the tiers in February and added a discord! That’s been great to chat to you all! And my uncle who owns Digiflix, a cinema advertising agency, made me our ad that is live on youtube and on our page!
And then in March... wow… I signed on the new artists. They have been AMAZING! They have lifted the quality of my maps, while making some of the most awesome content of their own. It’s been a whirlwind adventure with us collaborating and making some epic work for you all. I love their work, they are fantastic artists and I know our patreon would not have been as successful without them.
And just as we turned 1 year old… we got our 100th patron! I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried.
There are just no words to describe how we feel when you tell us how you’ve used our maps, or when you comment on the discord or on the posts here. We love the criticism (not that there’s been much) and the compliments. You are awesome people!
For those who have come and gone… we thank you too. Every bit that you contributed has counted towards our hobby paying for itself. And who knows? If we get enough patrons… this could be my full time job!
A million thank yous! I look forward to another great new year with you all.
Have Fun!
