What are we going to watch? Something with a MAP! Something D&D related! Something with D&D and a MAP!
So it’s no secret that we are pretty musical at Beg, Borrow and Steal Productions, what with my profile picture being me at a piano and Becca (The Musical Rogue) being… well… Becca (The MUSICAL Rogue). We also reckon we have a fairly decent sense of humour.
So lets watch something that combines music, comedy, dungeons and dragons and maps all in one!
I give you Tripod Vs the Dragon.
Tripod is a comedy band from Melbourne, Victoria who have been active in the comedy music scene for about 30 years. They have been stalwarts of Australian television shows, working with comedians such as Adam Hills, Peter Helliar and Rove McManus. They have performed internationally, specifically as returning artists at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
They are massive Dungeons and Dragons fans and have crafted a 90min D&D musical called “Tripod Vs the Dragon” which is hilariously funny and well worth a watch. SO WE ARE WATCHING IT!
We’ll create a special Voice Chat channel in our discord where we can stream the show to our patrons. (We have permission from Tripod to do this!) We can watch it together and use the text chat to comment on things as the show goes on.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!!!
After the show we will be joined by Scott Edgar (Scod) FROM TRIPOD for a Q&A with our patrons!!!
Scott is a phenomenal artist, writer and musician who is most famous for his work with Tripod. But, in addition, he has worked on a number of impressive projects as a writer including on projects with Wizard’s of the Coast. He also wrote music for the game “Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate” and wrote the story for the pilot Tom Forrester in the video game “Hero’s Over Europe”.
Scott has agreed to chat with all of us and in his own words “Shoot the sh*t with some fellow D&D nerds”. Which is Australian slang for “Answer any questions you might have about the production or whatever.”
Entry is limited to our Pizza, Soda and Merch Tier patrons, but do not fear! If you currently don’t support us at one of those tiers you can still be a part of this awesome event by pledging at a Pizza or higher tier for the month of August.
